Personality:
Killian is pretty careless to other people's opinions of him. Not much in the world really matters to him. Global matters have never weighed on him very much, and his circle of concern is rather tight. This is evident in his casual dressing, always with a green t-shirt and the nice black coat overtop, adorned at the collar and the ends of the sleeves with fur. While he's not sure whether that's real or not, it also doesn't really matter.
Still, his pokemon matter to him. Training and making something of himself and his teammates falls decidedly within the tight circle of concern. As such he may push his partners too far, but he'll always apologize afterward. Sadly Killian is very aware of a flaw of his, and a rather large one at that. His temper is absolutely terrible. While long term he wouldn't mind much, and he wouldn't hold a grudge very long, his outbursts are sudden and often.
Whether he's provoked or not, Killian will find himself yelling insults at the top of his lungs and throwing punches when it absolutely isn't necessary. While he's tried various methods to calm himself, he's resorted to just staying away from people as much as he could. Events in his past of a mystical, odd, or dare he say even magical nature could be the cause of this large character flaw, but he's quicker to blame himself than his past.

Favoured Type: Ghost in general, but if he had to pick between starter types, water.
Battle Style/Strategy: He favors gimmicky attack combos, such as hypnosis and dream eater together, along with status conditions.

Notes: Shadow is a gastly, so as a ghost he's able to make subtle appearance changes with little effort. Killian met Shadow deep in the corridors of the odd museum of his childhood. (See his backstory)
History/Back Story
Killian has no idea who his original parents were. Instead of that nice family upbringing that he'd generally wanted, he ended up adopted and neglected. The single man who'd adopted him was always off at work or doing who knows what. Killian never knew, and often found himself out of food for a day or so waiting for his 'father' to return. Such neglect could be said to cause his tantrums and carelessness, but Killian would beg to differ. He was never physically abused, only mentally. He was ignored in every aspect, thought especially by his adoptive father to be someone who would amount to nothing. This created Killian's drive, to get himself to the top, just so he could laugh in his dads face that he made it.
Pokemon had never been part of Killian's upbringing, yet he'd always wanted to have one. A pokemon would at least play with him and pay attention to him, even if it only was because he would feed them. This want and his drive would intertwine together quite easily, and Killian would leave home at his first opportunity to get himself pokemon. Pokemon meant not being here, and a chance at the glory he wasn't suppose to have.
A year or so before he was meant to leave on his pokemon adventure, Killian found himself in mysterious circumstances one morning. He found himself deep in the corridors of a museum when he should have woken up in his bed at home. Exploring and rummaging through this museum yielded encounters with possessed dolls, living statues, and many other terrifying puzzles and interactions. Through this entire journey he held with himself a blue rose connected to his life force. Allowing the various flower hungry monsters to take a bite of it yielded physical injuries to Killian.
Even after escaping that terrible place Killian still can't understand it's secrets, and holds many new fears. Additionally he still keeps with him the blue rose, fearful to leave it behind or get it hurt for fear it's damage still may mean his death. These traumatic experiences did allow him to meet his partner though, in addition to everything he'd become or become afraid of.
